Artist Statement

Utopia is a piece dedicated to the Miami Marine Stadium. It highlights the structures ability to uphold beauty throughout time, and touch conditions. Within my piece, I’ve designed a chair that through decay and wear still manages to show beauty in several ways. The chair glows as if it’s coming to life on its own. Plant life grows from the chair in order to show the audience that even within endings, there is new beginnings. This chair is a symbol of life, resilience, and growth.
