“Es El Salitre”

This piece is titled after a common phrase in used by Miami residents who live on the coastal areas of the city, referring to how salt corrosion affects their properties. This process of corrosion, is clearly experienced at the Marine Stadium .

A seat from the stadium was separated into two parts, the base and the backrest. Salt crystals “grow” in and out at the planar intersection of the two parts, in representation of how many different cultures have grown in Miami since the construction of the Marine Stadium. A liquid blue panel symbolizes the connection between the ocean, the stadium and the cultural injection into the city.
