Artist Statement
Growing up in Panama City, Florida, I always wanted to move to Miami. The allure of the tropics had a grip on my imagination. Being involved in this project to paint a seat from the infamous Miami Marine Stadium is a great honor. I am absolutely obliged to paint on a piece of Miami’s history.
I chose to depict the University of Miami’s mascot, Sebastian the Ibis. I have been known to paint him around the city. His attitude and grit is a great combination with the street art that has taken place at the stadium.
